Uplifting Cleveland’s Communities Through Innovation and Equity
We are thrilled to announce that WRJ Developers has been awarded third place in the inaugural CLE-EDI real estate developer pitch competition. Our ArkiTainer Infill housing project in the St. Clair Superior Neighborhood, Cleveland’s first shipping container homes, has been recognized for its innovative approach to affordable housing.
CLE-EDI: Leveling the Playing Field
The Cleveland Equitable Development Initiative (CLE EDI) is a year-long program designed to support historically excluded developers of color. This initiative, led by Cleveland Development Advisors (CDA), Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, and Capital Impact Partners, aims to create opportunities and uplift the Greater Cleveland community.
Celebrating Success
William A. Willis, CDA’s Senior Director of Development Services, announced the winners at the Cleveland Foundation. Andre Bryan took the top prize of $50,000 for his iSPACE Project, and Jimi Oluwabiyi and Lael Developers Inc. won second place with a $30,000 award for their affordable townhomes in Slavic Village.
Our Vision
At WRJ Developers, our ArkiTainer Infill project aims to transform the St. Clair Superior Neighborhood with modern, sustainable housing. We are honored to receive this recognition and are committed to continuing our efforts to revitalize Cleveland’s communities.
Looking Ahead
A new cohort of developers will start this fall, running through Spring 2025. Applications are open from July 1 through 29. We look forward to seeing more innovative projects that will shape the future of Cleveland.
